Inspiration behind Dw33b -No CO2 Promise- Collection

Dw33b -No Co2 Promises Collection-
Words without action has no meaning.
Scroll down to read about the song which inspired this collection. Enjoy the pictures!

This collection was inspired by this video. I have reduced my listening to music  in order  to increase my attention span, last time I could listen for hours and do just basically that...back to the topic :

Once in awhile I still get inspired by songs that I use to listen and memorize by heart. This happens to be one of those inspiration moments when it plays in my head while I made this collection.  The song was by Corey Latif Williams (not so well known here but he is talented and  I found this song  to be good) It is called Promise me. I manage to find it on You Tube with the lyrics.

If it is slow to load here check out the link here :  http://youtu.be/WHZoOhYkQKE

My interpretation of the lyrics:
It is about this dude who has been let down enough times and was fooled he was loved but in truth his "Status" "Money" and "Worldly goods" were the pulling factor. He became kinda insecure and distrustful with the women coming at him. Then one day he met  "the one" and this song is him being truthful with her  about the state of his heart which to me has a clingy tone while listing out his baggage (we all have that) but he is being sincere and hopes they will get through any obstacles.
*On a realistic point promises can only be seen through the passage of time and actions done. Words can just be carbon dioxide after all.*
The recurring themes for were these Complex, Depth, Doubts, Honesty, Sincerity and Time and that is how I named the bracelets.
Overall .....Call me strange, a sucker  or both but I found it Inspiring.
Hope you enjoyed my mini story.

Princess Gizmo Crafty Store

Awesome! That is the first thing I thought of when I came across this blogger site. She is a Bruneian also delving in the handmade craft. I "stumbled" upon her personal blog a few ago and I took a gamble and sent her an email. She has been around for two years and celebrating her blog anniversary.
She is friendly and she knows her craft which is scrapbooking.
She kindly offered to write a post on my behalf. Scoot your mouse over here and check that post out. It is brief nevertheless fantastic. Hahaha.
SO if you live in Brunei and you are interested in getting a handmade personalize card for a birthday, special ocassion or you just want to suprise the person in your lfe with something special. She is the go to person.

Here are some pictures of her handmade creations which I think are awesome :

Handmade Wallet

A couple of months ago, one of my brothers birthday was coming up and I had no idea what to get for him. I came across something on Instructables though to myself
-Hey I might be able to make that-
What did I make you ask? I made him a wallet.
It turned out good but I wished I had more time to personalize it more.
You might be wondering what material I used.. Does it not look oddly familiar?
I made him a handmade wallet by using the circuit sheets found in a keyboard.
He liked it  and I still wish to make some modifications though.
Here is the link to the intruction : http://www.instructables.com/id/Wallet-made-from-a-computer-keyboard/
O I should mention that this idea or the person who deserves  credit for this awesome idea is  Ryan McFarland and the website where it originally came from http://www.zieak.com/

Kick-Ass

Before I go any further here is summary of Kick-Ass the Movie which I did not write which came from IMDB (The Internet Movie DataBase Website) :

Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan with a few friends and who lives alone with his father. His life is not very difficult and his personal trials not that overwhelming. However, one day he makes the simple decision to become a super-hero even though he has no powers or training. Written by Daniel J. Leary - This summary link here.

Kick-Ass seriously it Kicked ass. It was one of those movies that will linger on in my mind. The graphic, story-line, the cast and the movie direction blew me away. The good guys had their dark side and the bad guys were funny. When I think about it their is a fine line between good and evil. Even though I missed the first five minutes. It was dark, funny and overall AWESOME!! I cannot wait for the sequel!!!!!!!!! I apologize if I sound like I am high on sugar.
I waited a whole year to watch this movie and was kinda scratching my head as I wondered why people in Brunei (Or at least my friends)were not excited to watch it.

The movie had its light moments, it normal moments but it was violent, a lot of colorful swearing which I have blocked out of my mind and it pushed one's perception.
These are normal people trying to be Super Heroes.

Kick Ass is the story of normal people living in the real world with no super powers and a normal teenager who decides to become a "superhero". It is the anti comic book hero movie. It starts with a normal teenager -Dave- who ponders why we enjoy reading comic books and love those marvel characters but then ask "Why are there no Super heroes in the real world?"
He then decides to be superhero -his costume is a wetsuit-. He attempts to prevent some criminals from stealing a car and in the process gets beaten up, stabbed and left to bleed to death.
He tries to walk but then gets hit by a car. The driver just drives away and Dave is left unconscious on the road just seen as a kid wearing a wetsuit when he tries to do the right thing.

After recovering, he tries to be a superhero once again and that is when things start to spiral out of control when he gets filmed saving a complete stranger while everybody just watches and the event is uploaded into You Tube.

He tries to be a good guy and ends up getting involve way deeper that he wanted in a world where being a superhero is a big responsibility where you have to make a stand.

I made a mental of check list of friends who could watch it with me and I seriously came up with no one. The one person I thought off who could watch with me was in Japan.

Red Mist is funny as he and Dave are normal teenagers who have a fondness for reading comic books. The difference is Red Mist has an arsenal of gadgets at his disposal as well as tons of cash. There were moments I tried to close my eyes while I watched this movie. I wish I could get a hold of the comic book but from my understanding the movie follows the comic closely. So I really did not miss out on much -I assume the comic book had way more blood and violence involved-

In the end I brought some of my siblings as I gushed about the movie to them and in the end we all enjoyed it. Hit-Girl was one of the best and controversial characters there as she is a 12 year old assassin who enjoys the kill. The movie was well made and I had a couple of laughs and tears in the mix.

The Big Daddy character was a surprise to me as he looked like one of those normal quiet men on the surface but then when you look closer he is a very angry man with murder and revenge on his mind.

There were some memorable lines in the movie and I liked once conversation in particular between Hit-Girl and Kick -Ass while they were in a car. Kinda sad but true.
I am patiently waiting for the next installment. My brother on the other hand is excited as a PS 3 game base on this movie is coming soon.

Jan Vormann Dispatchwork

I was just surfing the net browsing the telegraph.co.uk when something colorful caught my eyes and I could not resist so I decided to click out of curiosity. It was amazing.

Lego+ Crumbling walls and structures+Repair work
=
Ingenious!

Jan Vorman has been traveling around the world for the last three years fixing crumbling walls and structures by using Lego pieces with the help of many wonderful and enthusiastic people who are creative in their own right.

I would never expect a combination like that would work. I have seen some fantastic things sculptures that have been done with Lego bricks but NEVER thought these fun colorful bricks would be used to help repair buildings. It gives a dash of color and makes people wonder "How is that possible?"

Tried my best to research as much as I could about Jan Vormann (the person behind the idea). He is quite an elusive person from what I gather with my not-so-bad-usually-find-what-I-Want-Information(Whew what a mouthful- I might be wrong about this but hey his work is wonderful). After more researching I found his listed work on this site and judging from what he studied- He applied the knowledge that he learned and put a creative spin on it.
Simply eye-catching and *Whoa I need to take a closer look and see if they are for real* feeling.

Another helpful website was Samsung Imaging (site) which explained what and why the Lego are used. The purpose is for a campaign as they stated in their title for the post :

Jan Vormann – Cure and Remember, Lego helps us.

The post written by Nadia's own words on Oct 21 2009 states

This campaign, started by Jan Vormann, was initiated by the hope to remedy the building that was wounded by the shootings from WWⅡ; with Lego. Then, out of all things, why with Lego? There are other materials like cement that are unnoticeable. Lego is fun, but it seems so out of place. So why was it with Lego? ..........................................
..............................................................................................................................
making Lego and filling in the building is a symbol of looking back at the past and at the same time, a pledge to not go through one of our worst mistakes again. This is Jan Vormann’s intention and the time that we all need. (You can read more of this post-report at the link given below)

When you break your arm

When I was younger, I was very prone to breaking my arm(I was pretty reckless as a kid). This would result in a trip to the hostpital and then I would get a sling on my arm.
People would ask how did I break my arm (Pretty fun to recap the story 2- 3 times but after that it gets too tiresome as I am not talkative all the timeT_T).
One of those times or let me say event as to how my arm was fractured is now a permanent story my family members remembers with amusement as it involved a freezer and superman. -_-
I came across this very cool sling that is so creavtive and basically you do not even have to say even one word to explain the "event". Very simple and I salute the person who did this - Brazilian designer Andre Montejorge. His site is pretty awesome as well and may be found by clicking on his name. I know that I will be checking out his blog and maybe get a sling from him the NEXT time I fracture my arm ^_^
