What is a Dw33b?

Hello everyone!! Finally i got this blog up and working. It has been sort of been at the back of my mind ever since i waited patiently to graduate from UBD. The results are out and the job search begins while i wait for convocation. (So close but far away...31 Oct 2009!! the day i officially say good bye to UBD life)

What can i tell you about me?
I like listening to a well-balanced variety of Music (At the moment listening to Khalil Fong, thank you to a very great friend of mine.)
I enjoy reading non-fiction, fiction, Manga (Japanese Comics) and Mahwa (Korean Comics!!)
Playing games using the many available platforms (PS2, PS 1, PC and hopefully in future PS3!!)

*Ahem* moving on from that short randomness let me continue with something random and end with something important (For dw33b)

After a looooooooooooong break from that first post,
I am back to get this blog/Online store active. One of the many online stores for Negara Brunei Darussalam!
My dream since i was a kid other than to become a Lawyer, Minister, Ninja..(The list goes on)
One of the many dreams i had growing up was to have my own store.
With the help of the internet this has become possible. ^_^
I am very excited to present to the people what i created with my very own two hands. I am VERY interested in making jewelery.

After watching "Confessions of A Shopaholic" the movie, and my many attempts which may be found in a Dw33b's FAQ. A part of my brain decided it was time I should try my hand at creating jewelry. So far I am having fun breaking down something "Normal" and turning it into a "Dw33b Creation".

My family helped in supporting this new found interest. My mother bought me my very first book on how to make jewelry.(Thank you mama! You are an inspiration). My dad has been giving me feedback as well as he is also a source of inspiration(Thank you Daddy for showing me "One is never to old to learn something new")

Now moving on, What is a dweeb?

A Nerd? Nope

A Geek? Getting closer
Is it a Combination of a Nerd and A geek???

uh... I don't think so ... a dweeb is different, this is my understanding of some traits to being a dweeb.

A Dw33b is

• Socially awkward
• Likes to give complex explanations to simple questions
• Has a real love for books
• Not an expert in computers

This was drawn by my very creative sister ,Dayana a few months ago. I lack the ability to draw so i am grateful that i have a sister who is a wonderful artist . I saw it and thought that it would look great as the back of my cards. It is very colorful and eye catching . I have included how it looks in the front also. My two younger sisters helped in picking the color of the words.





What am I planning to do next?
Well in the next few days i will be showing my jewelery and some T-shirts.
So basically i am a Bruneian dw33b making handmade jewelery and putting up some unique stuff.
Hopefully it does not rain and then i will be able to take photos of the things i have now.

Ok Let us get this FAQ started!!

How do you pronounce Dw33b?

It is pronounced as dweeb. I have given a very brief explanation on what a Dweeb means to me over here.

Why the name Dw33b?
I wanted something short and complex at the same time. I was brainstorming with my two sisters on one lazy afternoon in the family living room. Many names were suggested like...In the Closet...Uh...I forgot the others but the name Dweeb came up. It was actually a joke but somehow I felt it was the right name to use. Now the parade of the Dw33b has begun...LoL

What is this Site?
This is an online store/blog where i sell handmade items and unique stuff. Some of the stuff over here are one of a kind or limited editions. I ENJOY creating these stuff. At the moment i make jewelry and I am in the middle of trying other things. I will continue to make these things because i feel a sense of accomplishment when i manage to create something. Now i understand how my sister feels when she does her baking/cooking. She by the way has a blog also, Kinda different but the same. Visit her here.

Why Handmade Jewelry?
I have tried my hand at a lot of things. Every attempt led me closer to this. Let me recap the things I have tried:

• Writing poems
• Writing Lyrics for songs
• I tried playing musical Instruments
• Growing a garden of flowers
• Decorating eggs
• Attempted to "modify" clothes
• Paint/Draw

Those were some of the things i tried and it did not work out. Still trying out other things but making jewelry is in my top 5 things I enjoy to do. Experiencing failure brings you closer to your dreams in a way.

How do you actually create your jewelry?

I see something and have this need to mix and match it. The creative process takes awhile as i "break" the item apart and then combine it, resulting in something that is simple but also different..in my eyes though. Lol I like to make it "look" Vintage.

Who is your target audience?

Honestly speaking, the things i have made so far are for Women and Girls. I do however have some things that are for Men and Boys which are considered limited editions. Overall my target audience is Anyone who is interested in the things i have to offer. Customers, Potential Customers and People who just came to look are welcome! I am definitely here for as long as people enjoy the items i have to offer. I am in this for the Long Run!! (For as long as I can Live, Breathe and function normally within the ever changing definition of "Normal" )
